Getting Back into Gear
Last weekend, Rubberwulf and I headed up to the Birmingham area to visit Electrobound, RubberTec and RootT (the latter we’d briefly met in Chicago this year, and was visiting our friends in Birmingham last week, so it seemed like a great time to meet up again). We travelled up on Friday night after a tiring work week, looking forward to seeing friends.
What followed was the sort of weekend I had been dreaming of for quite some time – great friends, lots of gear and switching so that we all got some time being the gimp, and some time getting our “revenge” on each other.
We all had our time being strapped down, used by each other, the electro box or the Venus 2000. We kept going once the gimp had shot it’s load, seeing if we could get a second (or even a third in some cases), not worried about time, the outside world or anything other than what was happening right in front of us.
Some people have likened bondage and isolation or bondage and torment as a form of therapy. Something to help someone switch off from things for a little while, and I can certainly say it felt like that for me. That weekend was as far from reality as I have been for quite a while, and it felt like heaven. The fact it’s still on my mind and I’m still feeling very worn out is a testament to how much we did and how much I loved every second of it, both in gear and out of it.
RubberTec made his own blog post about this weekend here.
Here’s some of what happened:
