Back in 2010, I was at a week-long play party in a cottage in the UK with several of my closest friends, an event we called “Pervywe’en“. One evening, I walked into a room to find Scubaccs in a rubber suit unlike anything I’d seen so far: the GA4 from StudioGum. Something about seeing him in this all-enclosing, heavy-looking suit was just so right, so gimpy – I had to find out more (though at the time, I was too shy to do anything about it).
The following year, I finally got to try one. Tieme had kindly let (my now boyfriend) Rubberwulf and I stay at his place while he was on holiday, and let us use some of his gear. Amongst his drool-worthy gear collection was a GA4 – hanging up and tempting us both.
It was as amazing inside as I’d hoped – so thick and heavy, and everything is fully covered – even the gasmask is sealed inside. I’m generally not a fan of hazmat suits, but despite it’s hazmat-style design, I fell in love with that suit.
It’s a special suit to me – not only reminding me of that week with close friends, but also the first time Rubberwulf and I played properly together and got to know one another.
In December last year, I finally gave in to temptation, and ordered a GA4 from StudioGum. After an 8 week wait, it finally arrived today…
